Now, I want to introdue the new techology with iPhone for checking burn your skin. This app helps to treat burn people to reduce errors. it's a simple touch screen device. When users mark a color an area on a screen model, it appears as the location of burns. After that, they enter basic imformation about patient, then this app calculates the required fluids amount for patients. Although this app is designed for doctor, it can used to other places when people need to check their status.

E-Prescribing has 11.7% Medication Error rate

Because of a lot of prescription error in written out by hand, the new technology in electronic prescription was grown up during a decade. However, e-prescription also has shown that the mistakes are no lower than hand writing prescription. I found out that this article showes how and which part of prescription error occur. Since I saw many different technologies came out in healthcare field, I wondered how much errors are came out. According to author Karen Nanji, M.D., new technology is not always reduce the risk of medication errors. E-preceriptions from chain pharmacy use computerized prescribing system, and  the prescriptions were checked by person. But, there are still some kind of mistakes. The majority of them were drug dose, duration, and frequency. The main purposes of e-prescription may be the accuracy and the expense of speed and efficacy. If there are many errors, it may be useless. However, those mistakes can be eliminated if software were improved. So, I expect better technologies will be coming out near future.

Doctors use iPad for prescribing, draw, and fax

The E-preceribing has been grown in healthcare filed. Today, doctors have not used their prescription pads and changed for the computer keyboard instead. Since iPad has been grown in the market, the health related applications for the iPad has also increased. the mobile electroninc health record (EHR) app is new feature that  health profession can monitor patients for free. So, doctors can write a prescription for any drugs in the iPad and send it to the pharmacy. Indeed, doctors can draw in the X-ray sreen on the iPad so that they use as a note or review it to patients. Finally, doctors can faxes the patient's information from iPad. it can be recorded in the iPad directly, they don't need other step to complete the transaction. Using the iPad is more convenient tool than others, but I wonder how it protect the private information.

Is a gift card as a 15 minutes guarantee in pharmacy worth?

Since Rite-Aid have 15 mins guarantee for prescription, I had a class issue that the retail pharmacy's promotion is worth or not. This promotion shows, "if you don't get your prescription in 15 mins, you get a $5 gift card." As a pharmacist or student pharmacist, we may be thought about this issue once. Do you think is is possible?

As  customers, it is a good deal, because they can get their prescriptions early or get time reimbusements. What about pharmacists? Can they survive in retail pharmacy? or have lots of troubles? Most customers or patients may think pharmacists can fill the prescription and complete everything within few minutes like Rx prescried. Indeed, somone do not even understand why pharmacists need the doctorate degree for filling the presciptions. Well, if we  fill the prescriptions only, the prescription will be realy in few minutes.

However, we are not just a filling technician only, but to be a healthcare profession. out job and goal is to reduce med. eeror and care patients with healthcare knowledge. one of my fridnes, who is a pharmacist in Rite Aid, has stress about this issue in real life, because patients complain to the suprevisor if it's delayed. Pharmacists are busy with checking med, taking phone orger, counseling patients like multitasking. they don't even have time to sit and eat in the store. I don't know how they can handle thier all works within limited time. it may worsen to make mistatkes or med errors.

Here is a link that I found the same issue how pharmacist think this situation and how they react.

According to the article, people, who consumped the high rate of chocolate, may reduced in the risk of cardiovascular disease and stroke. Of couse, it will be harmful with over consumption. Indeed, health providers may not recommended to keep eating chocolates as nutritions. However, I'm happy to hear these news and wish to get more benefitial facts, so I don't need to feel guilty eating chocolates at least.
